Risas Birthday

Yesterday was my "baby's" 13th birthday. I know, I know, I should have posted yesterday, but was just a little busy. I can't believe that 13 years ago I was and am so blessed to have this amazing person in my life. Happy birthday "Roo" I Love You!

Here's some pics from yesterday. Had some no shows, but the girls seemed to have a great time. I think they (or maybe it was me) finally quieted down around 2.

Risas New Bed

Today we got Risas new bed and got it all set up for her party for tomorrow. It is really high, but she seems to like it. It will be nice to see her in a "big girls" bed. I think I may dye her curtains red to give her a hint of color. Going to paint the walls maybe a beige color. The 2 pictures in the background are great prints that Mom and I picked up at Michaels. Found some neat paper laterns that we're going to light tomorrow and a couple of neat fans to put on the wall. Anyone have any other ideas? Give me some feedback.

Thursday

So it's been another busy week here. Trying to get Risa's bedroom all set for her big birthday sleepover on Saturday. Last count was 5 teenage girls, I ought to have lots more gray hairs by this time on Sunday. But it should be fun, let's hope they all go to sleep by 2 AM. Mom and I finally found a nice oriental themed bed set for a really good price, and we're getting her new bed tomorrow, so I'll take pics when we get it all set up. Still have to do some painting, but that shouldn't take long at all.

Sundays with Mom

What a fun Sunday. Mom and I went shopping and messing around, then headed over to Wendys for some much needed blog teaching. We had so much fun. Thanks so much for all of your help sis, you ROCK :) Sorry, just had to throw that in there. Gonna be some busy weeks coming up. Risa's birthday is on Saturday, Mothers Day/Jackies Birthday on Sunday, Josh is graduating next month, plus all the SHS stuff.....ugh.

Adoption Day

Today we had fun at the Whaleyville Days. I was still torn about going, but glad I did. We ended up having 3 adult dogs and 1 puppy adopted, gave out a mess of volunteer applications and the community seemed really warm with welcoming us. Couldn't help but think of how "green acres" it was tho lol. From the really bad kareoke' sounding bands to the pie eating contest, what fun tho. Buck tried to get me to enter the pie eating contest, which I was willing to do if we got enough donations, but, sad to say, no takers. Here's a couple of pics from the day.

Whaleyville Days

Today we are having an adoption event in one of our out lying towns. This will be Buck's first event with SHS, so I'm kinda excited to see how he'll like it. I was really torn with still doing this, in light of what happened this past Monday. Feels like I should be helping to rebuild lives. But maybe, in a way, I am. If we adopt out even 1 animal, that's 1 life saved and maybe a new and long lasting relationship for someone. I'll post pics later, I promise Judi, I'm taking my camera.

Blogging

I have to confess, I'm jealous of all those other bloggers that have all those fancy do-dads on their blogs. I'm having a hard time just finding things to blog about. Judi has this nifty tracker thing that thinks it knows where you're located at. Wendy has these neat pictures that are forever changing. Even "Uncle Gary" has all these cool things. I must be blogging illiterate or something. So if someone wants to share some secret blogging hints, please, feel free to leave me some pointers.
