New TV

Friday we got our 50" tv. For the life of me, I'm still trying to figure out why a tv needs to be that large. Guess it's a guy thing. Today we'll be moving our old tv to Mom's along with the entertainment center. I've heard rumors of getting a surround sound system...must be a guy thing, cause I sure don't get it lol

Midnight Madness update

Went by the shelter today to drop off some newspapers, and went to visit my little sweetheart from the other day. She has been adopted!!! Great news!!

Favorite Sayings

I've been think and hearing some sayings here lately, just thought i'd write down some of my favorites. Some may be quotes from famous people or just sayings. But all mean a lot.

1. Bless your heart.

2. If you're going to pray, don't worry. If you're going to worry, don't pray.

3. The best things in life are unseen. That's why we close our eyes when we laugh kiss, and dream...

4. Live like there's no tomorrow, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching.

That's about it for now, I'm sure I'll think of more later. Feel free to add more. For those of you who read this, I hope you all dance!!

Moonlight Madness

Was an awesome day today. Spent the morning with Mom making jewelry and just hanging out. It's been a long time since we've done that. Had to go the animal shelter in the afternoon for a special "Moonlight Madness" adoption event that was being held all over the area. What a great time! Wendy and Mom surprised me with a visit, I think they fell in love almost as many times as I did. Unfortunately I didn't get to take any pictures, only came home with a poopy shirt to show for it. But it was SO worth it. Three dogs really captured my heart. First there was a little lab mix puppy, who was nothing but a sweetheart. A couple adopted her before I could get her, I think she found a good home with them. There was another lovie that was already adopted, what a sweetheart he was. The last one was a little pup that they had listed as a pit mix. Bless her little heart, all these people were coming in, of course being attracted to all the other more lively dogs. She just laid there on her cot, shaking. Was breaking my heart. Just before my time was over, I went in and sat with her. Started trying to cox her a bit with some food, and she finally came around. The poor thing was starving, probably hadn't gone to the bathroom or had anything to eat or drink all day. I so wanted to bring her home, but I hope she'll find a loving, forever home with the right family.
Tomorrow, off to Petsmart and hopefully find more homes lol

Hope everyone had just as good of a day!

Special Sale

Today Wendy, Mom and I went to one of Sam's cheerleading competitions.....OMG, guess I forgot how loud cheerleaders could be lol Was so much fun though. All the girls were awesome. Mom and I got teary eyed when the special needs cheerleaders came out. I honestly can't remember moving they way some of the cheerleaders moved, i'd probably pop something out of joint lol On a good note tho, Sam's squad came in 3rd out of 8 other squads in their division. GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!

Todays Funny

A woman accompanied her husband to the doctor's office. After his checkup, the doctor called the wife into his office alone.

He said, "Your husband is suffering from a very severe disease, combined with horrible stress. If you don't do the following, your husband will surely die.

Each morning, fix him a healthy breakfast. Be pleasant, make sure he is in a good mood. For lunch, make him a nutritious meal. For dinner, prepare an especially nice meal for him. Don't burden him with chores, as he probably had a hard day. Don't discuss your problems with him, it will only make his stress worse. And most importantly, make love with your husband several times a week and satisfy his every whim. If you can do this for the next 10 months to a year, I think your husband will regain his health completely."

On the way hom, the husband asked his wife. "What did the doctor say?"

"You're going to die," she replied.

Sorry, just thought it was funny.

Josh

So today was my half day at work, what a blessing that is during the week. Had lunch with Josh, headed over to Wally world, then came home to the daunting task of filling out financial aid information for college....UGH!!!!!! I can understand why more people don't take advantage of it. Only had to fill out 7 pages of information, I think they asked everything but what size shoes we wore. He has decided to stay close to home and go to either Chowan or ITT Tech. I'm just glad that he's even showing some interest in college. Let's hope I hear some good news here shortly.

Risas Party

Well Risa had a great time. She was a little nervous before she left, but once she got there, everything was fine. I got there a little early and was watching all the kids, it was so funny. A bunch of girls, all having fun, not too many boys. The birthday girls "boyfriend" was there and they were so dancing. Basically standing in one spot, lifting their feet up and down, while Risa and her friends held hands and cirlced them. I had to laugh, didn't quite understand that ritual. Took me back to the first boy I kissed, think I was 13 and his name was Dino Priest. Wonder where he is today? lol Here are 2 pictures of the party girl not looking to happy.

Risa

Today Risa has her first real boy/girl party. One of her friends, who she's been friends with since forever, is having a 13th birthday party. Complete with food, drinks & dancing. At 9:30, she has already had her shower, started doing her hair, and in complete party clothes mode lol I figured by now, she would have decided she didn't want to go. Now, maybe later that may be true. I'm excited for her that she actually wants to go. She's been a little nervous about the whole dancing thing, but she seems to be excited. Hope it all goes well for her.

In other news, Wendy decided to celebrate her 300th post with a mini quiz and giving away a pair of CJ Creation originals to the winner. (Congrats Shell!!!!) Only problem is, she hasn't told the C (me) part of CJ Creations what those earrings are going to be lol Going to try and post our mini etsy site for some pics.

Happy 18th Birthday Josh

Today is my baby boys 18th birthday. I can't believe he is 18. Not sure if I'm having a harder time realizing that he is now an adult or the fact that i'm old enough to have a child who is 18. But what a wonderful 18 years it has been, I wouldn't have changed a second of it. Happy birthday buddy!!!
