Pedicure

Buck got me a gift certificate for a pedicure for my birthday, so today, 3 months later I decided to use it. Here's some things I have figured out.

#1 Make sure you leave plenty of information lying around from the shop that you usually go to.
#2 If when you enter the shop, 5 people say hello, and you only understand 1 of them, see if you can get a refund.
#3 When they ask you what color you'd like and it sounds like someone is texting outloud, i.e. "Wut colar u wnt", just shake your head yes.
#4 When the water is so hot in the bowl, that it nearly shrivels your skin, might want to wait until after they add some cold (if they can understand you)
#5 Never, I mean NEVER go to the grocery store afterwards. You know, when you have your flip flops on because you don't want to mess up the $25 pedicure, you might just end up with a jammed toe.
#6 I am seriously in the wrong business. When someone who spends less than 20 minutes on a pedicure and they get $25?!?!?! WTH!!!!!

But, I do have pretty toes now.

It's me

It's pretty bad when your fiance' mentions you have to update your blog, lol. What can I say, I just go about my life, day by day. I could talk about work. But work is work, I've met some pretty amazing people there. Some patients that I have seriously become attached to. Or I could talk about our recent trip to Dover Downs where I found not 1 but 2 wallets. Yes, I turned them over to security. I was kind of surprised about that one tho, figured anyone who knew me would know it was a no brainer that I turned them in. Honestly never thought about keeping them, must have been that candy bar I took when I was 11 and Mom made me take it back to the store and apologize. Yeah mom, the lesson stuck lol Plus the whole Karma thing, I never really thought about keeping them, they weren't mine to keep. So, I put that out there for those who may have had something happen to them like that. Yes, it was a very public place with an enormous amount of people coming and going, but what do you think?

I've Been Tagged

Wendy tagged me for the photo game.
Go to where your photos are, pick the 6th folder and the 6th picture in that folder and post it. Tell us about the photo and then tag 6 other people...have fun.

This is Buck's sister Sherri and her husband Mike at a bridal shower that they had.

I'm going to tag whoever would like to play.

Newsletter

Well kids, I think this is my 100th post, and while it doesn't compare to my sisters impressive numerous posts, thought it was monumental in it's own right. Just thought I'd share something with everyone and of course it has to do with the Humane Society....I made the newsletter!! How fun is that? I'm so proud to be a member of this organization. So, here's the excerpt, and glad that Kee Kee found a good home, she really was a sweet dog.

ADOPT-A-THON

AdoptAThon Adopt-a-Thon February 28 at the Hydrant
Suffolk Humane will sponsor an adopt-a-thon on Saturday, February 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hydrant, 1528 Holland Rd (at the end of the Suffolk bypass). Suffolk Animal Control will be there with adoptable animals.

If you are considering adding a new four-legged family member, please come to the adopt-a-thon at the Hydrant. At the January adopt-a-thon, four dogs and one cat found new loving homes!

Carol Cunningham is pictured at right with Kee Kee. Kee Kee was adopted at the January adopt-a-thon, and is now in her forever home.

Happy Birthday Josh!

Today is my wonderful son Josh's birthday. I can not believe he is 19! What a wonderful 19 years it has been with this child, well I should say young man. Not to get melancholy or anything, but I can still remember the first time I held him, and I can only say I feel truly blessed to be his mom. I cherish every moment i've had with him.
I love you Squash Man, Happy Birthday!!

Update on the updates

Looking back, seems I forgot to mention a few other things about this weekend.
  • Thank you Wendy for the nice lunch.
  • For setting me up for the upcoming scrap. I tell ya, she and Mom are invaluable!!
  • I got presented with my first actual Scrap girl t-shirt!
  • That I actually did find the AC Moore, which I am eternally grateful for.
  • Forgot to take my memory medication, which I can't remember what the name of it is, or even where I put it.
  • My wonderful sister Judi presented me with a friends award, which I will treasure!
  • Did I mention that I'm putting a GPS on my Christmas list?

Weekend Update

Had a pretty relaxing weekend. Had an adoption event on Saturday, had 4 dogs get adopted, including these 2 and 1 kitten. Started out as a pretty sunny day, then it started to rain a little, got quite a few folks out. As usual, if we only have 1 adoption, it's a good day :)

After that, went over Wendys to do a little pre-scrap stamping. Debbie and Mom were there as well, learned a few things from Debbie, she is so talented. Came home and relaxed after that.

Today Mom and I headed out to find our local AC Moore, ha ha ha. Let's just say, I wish I would have borrowed Wendy's GPS, I'm gonna put one on my Christmas list for next year. I cannot believe how turned around I was, by some grace of God, we made it there, in one piece. Had a really good time. She is so much fun to be around.

So, I'd have to say it was a pretty good weekend.
